Yoga In The Wild

Yoga in the Wild by Ciay Misa: A Book Launch

Today, more and more Filipinos are exploring the healthy lifestyle that comes from doing yoga. With this masterful art of toning the body comes not only physical well-being, but emotional and psychological healing as well. Yoga in the Wild, a book featuring the transformative power of yoga in one's life, will be launched this February 13, 2012, Monday at 5 in the afternoon.

Talikwas, an unfolding from within, from inside-out. An intimate exploration into primordial energy that underlies all of creation... Once the source is tapped, the body can move naturally, fluid and graceful, yet powerful and balanced.”
Written by successful businesswoman, mother, yogi and free spirit, Lucia "Ciay" Misa, this book is highly recommended for those who live and breathe yoga and adventure. The book is inspired by Ciay's funniest, wildest and most memorable moments with her family and friends around the world, and how yoga as talikwas has changed her life.

Yoga in the Wild Invite

I BADLY want to go...but I can't!
It's really frustrating to live up north sometimes...most events are too far.
Anyways, I hope some of you can.

It's open to the public and there's even a mini yoga lesson. And all proceeds of the book sales will go to Roots of Health (Ugat ng Kalusugan), a non-profit organization dedicated to improve reproductive health and to eradicate the malnutrition of women and children in the communities of Palawan.

In Presscon: My Househusband Ikaw Na!

299893_180323858716847_127239000692000_366101_1155304476_n

When Pax invited me for the blogger presscon of My Househusband Ikaw Na, I immediately said yes. You don't really say no for a chance to meet Ms. Eugene Domingo, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo.

My Househusband Ikaw Na is an official entry of Octoarts Films to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011.

Here's a brief synopsis of the movie.

The movie revolves around Rod (Ryan Agoncillo), a bank manager who suddenly lost his job and his wife Mia (Judy Ann Santos) who had to take on a job to provide for their family.  While Mia continuously excels on her job at the insurance agency, Rod adjusts to doing domesticated houseworks.  In the process, he befriends their neighbor Aida (Eugene Domingo), who everybody in the neighborhood knows is "the other woman" of a rich man.
It's a story of a couple who goes through the changes and trials of role reversal in the family. A story of a mistress who needed to realize her self-worth as a woman, and a human being.

Commuter Friendly

20111123-1
Sorry for the hair on my face. I was in such a hurry to leave the house, this was the only decent whole body shot I got.

20111123-2

top: Forever21
necklace: bought in HK,( I think locally available)
shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Lita

This is what I wore for the Laura Mercier collection launch. See post HERE

Funny thing was I almost didn't make it to the actual event. I got my dates totally mixed up and actually thought that it was on the next day.  I was at the office when I sort of realized that I got it wrong. Major panic mode. I quickly finished everything I can, rushed home, took the fastest shower, got dressed, took outfit photo, rode the train. And what do you know, I was the first one there. hahaha..

Thanks to Ava talaga! Despite having trouble with her BBM she was able to reply to me.

Since I was commuting, I decided to go for a very laid-back look. Went for pants and a loose top. Didn't even put the harness on my Lita. Para hindi agaw pansin

I've honestly missed taking the train. I took the LRT during my college days in Benilde. And I can still remember some of the funniest and craziest scenes that I've witnessed. Words like "EH DI MAGTAXI KA, ANG ARTE ARTE MO!" are forever embedded in my head. I love people watching. Kakatuwa

Anyways, I've rambled on. Here are some of the photos with the fabulous girls I was with.

After the event, I went to Starbucks with Angel, Keigh, Ava and Gizelle. It was fun just chatting with them. Topics we've covered some topics like make up, portable dance poles, clowns and my personal favorite "Divined". hahaha..peace Gi!

Rustan's Art Perfumery

1

After the Laura Mercier event, the girls and I also got a tour of the first ever art perfumery in the Philippines. Parang field trip!  I rarely go to perfume sections of department store because I always get overwhelmed with all the scents, but happy to say that was not the case here. None of the perfume were overpowering.

Most of the brands that they have are family owned businesses. They are not highly commercialized but equally successful. Some have been around for 400 years.

What Caught My Eye:

A 16k peso candle. It's huge! Perfect housewarming gift?
3

Now this is a more popular brand to celebrities, and I can definitely smell why.
5

The Hierbas De Ibiza's family tradition in Perfumery goes back to 1965.
4

Acca Kappa is wold renowned for their wooden brushes. They've been making it since 1869 and are 100% made in Italy from start to finish.
8

10

Now these are definitely luxury in a bottle. It costs around 20k php. The bottles are ceramic and if I remember correctly, only 6 of these are available here in the Philippines.
6

Everyone was going gaga over these really cute bottles. They had tiny cute faucets at the bottom. Too bad they weren't for sale.
7

My lootbag!
The Acca Kappa one is a little too floral for my taste but I've been reading from the other girls blogs that they are loving it. I, on the other hand fell in love with the Gendarme Cologne. I know it's for men but it blends so well with my chemistry, I can't stop using it.

Laura Mercier

Being a new Laura Mercier girl (love their Silk Creme foundation) I was ecstatic when Sarah invited a bunch of us for their event. They were introducing their new Moonlight Collection and Holiday gift sets.

The gift sets were encased in silver snake skin, totally on trend right? It's sophisticated and very chic, I like!
LauraMercier-02

Will give you guys a more detailed breakdown.
LauraMercier-03

The event was held at East Cafe. It was actually my first time there and it might not be the last. Really good food and ambience.
LauraMercier-05

Meet Qua (hopefully it's the correct spelling), the make up artist. He was extremely funny and beyond talented. He has worked with The Nigel Barker.
LauraMercier-07

And his lovely muse for the day, Sarah! There were a lot of these moments. Ang dami niyang side jokes! I was really engrossed in what he was saying that I forgot to take photos beyond this point.
LauraMercier-08

Basically he talked about the four steps to flawless face, the Laura Mercier way. Kinig na kinig na talaga ako nito kasi I bought their kit about 2 months ago but unsure how to use it. Finally, a live step by step tutorial.
LauraMercier-12

1. First is apply the Foundation Primer(white tube, 3rd on the left). Make sure to use clean hands.
2. The Foundation (1st on the left). Use dabbing motions with a sponge.
3.  Secret Camouflage and Concealer (jar in the middle). Use two shades and mix for the perfect match to your skin tone. Don't overdo it.
4. Last step is to apply the Setting Powder to keep makeup in place.

Tadah! Sarah all made up.
LauraMercier-09

After that we went down to the Laure Mercier store to check some more of their stuff.
LauraMercier-01

It was really hard to resist the lipstick..but I did! I deserve a pat on the back. As I've said I'm new at using Laura Mercier but I highly recommend their foundation or even their tinted moisturizer.
LauraMercier-04

They were kind enough to let us take home these beauties. Thank you so much! Really excited to use these. I still need to buy the activator for the eyeliner. I'll let you know when I've tried it.
LauraMercier-06
I am however in love with the souffle body creme in Almond Coconut Milk. I love coconut scents!!! I can't believe my luck that when I saw it on my bag. Thinking of buying the whole bath and body set or maybe the candle???

TOPS Blogger Bash

I had an "epic fail" Friday. I was suppose to attend the SoFa graduation but the traffic was so bad it took me more than 2 hours to get there. I felt so guilty because had to ask my brother to drive me and he got stuck in traffic again going home. I owe him, big time. And I'm pretty sure he''ll collect that debt soon.

Anyhows, I had to wait for the boyfriend to drive me to Ortigas for the 2nd event. I know, I know I'm such an inconvenient. Thankfully though it hasn't started when I got there.

press1

I first blogged about TOPS HERE. Did any of you join? I wasn't able to. Sayang!

Basically TOPS offer clothing and accessories from US and UK brands at a discounted price. They have several branches here in Manila and in Cebu, Bacolod and Iloilo.

I still owe them a visit so I'll be doing that soon and I'll let you guys know.

Some photos, most of which I grabbed from other bloggers. All credits go to them.

Bloggers United: Fab and Friendly Bloggers

Here I am again with a super late post. I'm such a procrastinating blogger. I wish I could say I was busy with awesome and grand stuff,  but truth is I was just getting me some "vampire fix" with Vampire Diaries. I miss True Blood...I miss Eric.

Anyhows, here are some of the photos from the Bloggers United. I don't really have much photos on the nits and bits during the bazaar. these are all with the awesome bloggers I finally got to meet in person.
P1080745
Reg of Hey Rocket Girl
I told her she's so tall in person and she said I'm so tall too. Truth of the matter is, we were both wearing really tall shoes. Love your red lippie Reg.

P1080748
Aie of In Aie's Shoes.
It's Aie! Don't you just love her signature headband. I can't believe I'm not following your blog. Followed, now na!

P1080749
Bestie of The Capricious Club.
We all know Bestie, she was one of my very first featured blogger. Btw, I feel so giant beside her.

P1080752
Denise of Denise Katipunera
So happy to finally meet you. I felt that you're so genuine and nice! Kahit na parang ang paulit ulit ko lang atang sinabi is "Nasan si Yllac?" hahahaha..

You HAVE, HAVE to go check her blog. It's funny, witty and so full of adorable Yllac photos. A well-written blog! love!

P1080754
Kookie of Death by Platforms
aaah... I was beyond ecstatic! I mean seriously. It's Kookie! Fan na fan lang.

P1080755
Pax of Drowning Equilibriums
One word: KALOKA! I love how what you see is what you get from Pax. She's really as kalog in person as she is in her blog.

P1080756
Raleene
Girl crush!!! I seriously have had a girl crush on her since her Myspace days. Too bad I wasn't able to watch her performance with her sister.

P1080757
Ava of Artsy Fartsy Ava
Another "finally" moment. it was really nice meeting you Ava, too bad I forgot to take photos of  baby Athan.

P1080758
Efi of Love and A Bad Hair Day
As I was expecting, Efi was really friendly. Too bad she had to leave early because of school. and I love the outfit Efi, you seem you were gliding in that skirt.

P1080759
Rosanna of Little Miss Dress Up
I got my only garment purchase from her booth. Will post it soon. and and I find her so pretty. I mean really pretty. She was the prettiest blogger there for me. Too bad I wasn't able to get a photo of her shoes! I think they were Jeffrey Campbells.

P1080760
Karl of Inkarlcerating
I wasn't expecting Karl to be so soft spoken because his tweets are hilarious. Fierce and soft spoken, who would have thought.

P1080761
Lloyda of Fashion Fortune Cookie
I love how she went incognito with that hat. Sometimes you barely notice her when she's by the wall. But she really is so adorable. I kinda saw her just observing and smiling to her self.

And so now you know why I don't really smile in my outfit photos. It's a little to distracting. I kinda smile like a freakish clown.

And of course much love and appreciation to my cousin who went with me and took all the photos. She's super patient! Love  you Cuz and stop reading my blog!!!
